PACKED EARTH

In this project, I created a book that combines both original stories and illustrations, all written and digitally drawn by me. The stories were completed over a span of six months during a Creative Fiction course with Dr. Katie Shinkle, whose encouragement pushed me to embrace the strange and haunting aspects of my writing. Her support helped me explore my creativity without holding back, something I never would have done without her inspiring guidance.

This book represents the culmination of my long-standing goal to merge my passion for writing with my illustration skills. Being able to link these two creative outlets in a single project was incredibly fulfilling. The illustrations were designed to complement the eerie, surreal tone of my stories, allowing me to fully express the atmosphere I wanted to create for the reader.

The narratives within the book reflect my love for the strange and surreal, with each story exploring a different aspect of human experience, while the illustrations enhance the feeling and depth of the stories. This project marked a significant achievement in my academic journey, and it reinforced my desire to continue combining storytelling with visual art. Moving forward, I look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of both my writing and artistic skills.
